Why Dior behaves differently to every other house
Dior is two products wearing one name. Oblique canvas bags are a print-registration problem; the B27 and B30 sneakers are a sole-stack problem. A page that gives you one checklist for both is not much use, so treat them separately and ask separate questions.
For the canvas, registration is everything. The motif has to meet at the seams and run level across the flap. The Saddle bag adds a second demand: the curved panel has to keep its line, and a mis-cut curve is visible from two metres away once you have seen a good one.
For the sneakers, the sole is the product. Stack height, edge finish and the way the midsole meets the outsole are the three visible numbers. The upper is comparatively simple, which is precisely why a bad sole makes the whole shoe read wrong.
