Why Adidas behaves differently to every other house
Adidas splits into two almost unrelated shops. On one side are terrace shoes - Samba, Gazelle, Spezial - where the product is suede, rubber and proportion. On the other are technical runners where the product is foam and geometry. The checks do not overlap, and treating them as one category is how buyers end up disappointed by the wrong thing.
For terrace shoes the honest evaluation is tactile: suede nap direction, the spacing of the three stripes, whether the toe cap is a single piece or pieced leather. All of it is visible if you ask for the right frames, and none of it is visible in a catalogue hero shot taken at a flattering angle.
ForBoost and technical midsoles the question is different: density and recovery. A pressed midsole in a photo can look identical to one that springs back. That is a listing-description question, not a photography question, and it is worth asking in writing before you commit.
